Packing

Packing

Many hands make light work, and packing all the thousands of books that are donated had been a wonderful example of it. Since the very first book drive, many volunteers had been involved in packing the books and preparing the pallets for transport to Texas.

For the past five years, the books had been taken to a warehouse in Bentonville where teams of volunteers, mainly Rotarians from the Bentonville/Bella Vista Daybreak Rotary Club and members of Bentonville High School’s Interact Club, meet one Saturday in February to pack all the books. The books are checked, counted, packed and palletized before the books are shipped to Houston to start their long journey to Africa.

Of course, no good Book Packing Day is complete without a pizza (or twenty) thrown into the mix.
